Light Cavalry or Horse Artillery Officer's Sabre, Model 1822/99. Third Republic and First World War (1914-1918).
Gilt brass hilt with branches decorated with foliage. Pommel monogrammed "ED". Brown horn grip with wire wrapping. Metal scabbard with one ring. Curved blade with fullers and a groove, unmarked. This model of sabre, originally intended for Light Cavalry officers, was issued to Horse Artillery officers in 1899.
A good sabre from the First World War (1914-1918). Good condition. Total length 1.10 cm.
