Large terracotta, 74 cm high, of a young fisherman represented in a very realistic way with his patched clothing, signed by Friedrich Goldscheider (1845-1897). Born in Pilsen in Bohemia, he took over his father's business and created the Porcelain Factory and Majolica Factory in 1885. He expanded his activity by publishing and manufacturing polychrome terracotta sculptures which appealed to a wide clientele in Europe and the USA. The fishing rod of this smiling young boy is made of wood, not original.
