Pair of important 19th-century bronze Medici vases. A very fine pair with sphinxes decorating the handles, resting on medallions surmounting lion heads. The pieces are entirely bronze with two patinas: gilt and bronze medal. The excellent quality of the chasing is particularly evident in the details of the heads decorating the central section. A rare pair, replicating the larger models from the Palace of Versailles. In short, a beautiful pair from the Napoleon III period, creating a grand 17th-century ambiance with remarkable decorative motifs.
