The movement is beautifully rendered thanks to the exquisite draping of the gown.
The Virgin of the Apocalypse, symbolized by her position on the crescent moon.She towers over the changing world, the night, and the passing of time.
As Queen of the Universe, she tramples upon evil, symbolized by a menacing beast.
The use of pigments on the face and hands, along with the glazing of the silver and gold elements, creates a beautiful mystical and decorative effect. 
A truly beautiful piece with a total height of 85 cm.
Base height: 17 cm; sculpture height: 68 cm.
Of particular note is the extremely rare period base, adorned with two angel heads and a Louis XIV-style lambrequin.
