Oil on canvas painting from the 18th century representing an interior genre scene. Very interesting painting with two characters talking in an interior with a window open onto a landscape. In my opinion, a scene which could represent a dowry payment between a very well dressed older man of quality and an apparently delighted young man. Recommendations provided by the wig-wearing father-in-law. Period gilded wood bead frame in very good condition, dimensions 46 by 38 cm. Unusual work and pleasant in its subject.
