Book-shaped casket, Italy, circa 1900. Stained walnut with elaborate illusionistic inlays on the lid, which is also designed in the shape of a book. A secret compartment is hidden in the base. The box is lined with red velvet, 11.5 cm (height) x 23 cm (length) x 13 cm (depth).
