Catherine Feff After Paul Cézanne's "lake Annecy"
Artist: Feff Catherine
Oil on canvas, signed lower left ‘C. Feff – after Cézanne’, by Catherine Feff, a renowned French visual artist celebrated worldwide for her monumental works and artistic tarpaulin installations in France, Europe, the United States and the Far East.
This painting is an interpretation of a famous work by Paul Cézanne entitled ‘Le Lac d’Annecy’, painted from the waterside of the hotel in Talloires where the artist had stayed with his family in 1896. It depicts the lake, the Château de Duingt and the mountains of the Bornes massif in the background.
Catherine Feff adopts Cézanne’s ‘constructive’ style but with a much brighter and warmer colour palette.
Moulded wooden frame with an inverted profile in pine green and warm ochre, enhanced with gold fillets that add further depth to the composition.
Overall dimensions, including frame: 70x79 cm.
Canvas dimensions: 46x55 cm.
