The Zig Zag chair is a piece of furniture designed by the Dutch designer and cabinetmaker Gerrit Thomas Rietveld in 1934. Made of three wooden planks joined in a Z shape with a fourth for the backrest, this chair, based on the minimalist concept, is typical of the minimalist and constructivist movement "De Stijl". This piece of furniture, characterized by an impression of instability, was an aesthetic revolution in the early 1930s.
