La Boussole, a frigate in La Pérouse's expedition, is a historic French ship that departed Brest in 1785 for a scientific expedition around the world. La Boussole and its sister ship, L'Astrolabe, were lost in 1788 in the Solomon Islands after being caught in a cyclone. This is a finely crafted, complete model on its base.
