Ceramic Wall Sconces, Olivier Corro, 1970s-1980s
A trio of large vintage wall sconces from the 1970s-1980s, a well-known design by Olivier Corro, stamped MAD423 on the back. This could be a slightly earlier or later variant of Corro's signature models, with 423 likely corresponding to the model number. Made of lightweight ceramic with a red marble transfer design, they feature elegant flared bowl shapes. A discreet gold trim accentuates the upper edge, and they rest on a black oval base. They are fitted with standard light bulb sockets, suggesting they may have been rewired in the past, as models from this era were more commonly halogen. Untested, I recommend having them rewired as the current wiring is old. They measure 38 cm wide, 14 cm high, and 13.5 cm deep. In very good overall condition. A slight circular defect in the decoration transfer is noted on one of the pieces, a crack in the decoration on another, and slight wear to the upper gold trim on all three pieces. A small, discreet chip is present on the edge of one of the wall lights. Approximately 700-800g each.
