Chinese Porcelain Cup. Hue Blue For Vietnam.
Small bowl, 13.8 cm in diameter and weighing 151 grams. Superbly decorated with a four-clawed dragon confronting a qilin for the sacred pearl. This bowl was made in the grand tradition of Hue blue porcelain by China for Vietnam. A mark underneath, "Nôi thi trung phú," which can be translated as "service from the interior of the central palace," indicates that this high-quality porcelain was most likely made in Jingdezhen, China, commissioned by Vietnam. The underside of the bowl bears the signature in underglaze blue as well as a wax export seal. This bowl is in excellent condition.
