The hilt consists of a patinated metal guard with small lateral quillons, simple and well-balanced, typical of this type of civilian or symbolic weapon produced in the 19th century. The handle is carved from marine ivory, finely worked in a helical twist, offering a very comfortable grip and a particularly decorative aesthetic. The natural patina of the ivory testifies to the piece's age and gives it an authentic charm.
