Antique wall-mounted telephone – Thomson-Houston – Model 1911 – 1918 Competition – Rare antique wall-mounted crank telephone with magneto, mounted on a wooden stand, dating from the early 20th century. This model bears an official plaque indicating: “Property of the State – Competition No. 1 March 1918 – Wall-mounted handset with magnetic call – Model 1911 – Cie FSE Thomson-Houston – Manufacturer Paris.” This is a telecommunications device used by the French administration or army, probably during or immediately after the First World War. Its manufacture is attributed to the Compagnie Française Thomson-Houston, a major player in the electrical industry in France at the beginning of the 20th century.
