Mahogany Sewing Table – Charles X Period

A charming Charles X-period mahogany sewing table that combines elegance and ingenuity. This refined little piece rests on a four-legged console base joined by a circular crossbar, a characteristic feature of furniture from the years 1825–1835.

The rectangular top with rounded corners opens to reveal an interior mirror, transforming the table into an occasional dressing table. It also features several compartments for storing sewing accessories, jewelry, or toiletries.

In the lower section, a compartmentalized drawer lined with green felt provides additional storage. The two retractable side flaps increase the work surface when extended.

The mahogany features superb natural grain highlighted by a beautiful antique patina.

Period: Charles X, first half of the 19th century.

Condition: very good overall condition. Beautifully restored for everyday use; all openings function perfectly. A few slight signs of age consistent with its age.
