Beautiful lacquerware from the Thu Dau Mot School, inscribed, signed by Nguyen Thanh, and dated 1953. I believe it to be a piece produced by the workshop of Nguyen Thanh Le, a master lacquer artist active in Saigon between 1948 and 1975. In good condition, 40 cm high x 30 cm wide. Inscription at the bottom right: "Together we send our best wishes to Doan." Inscription at the bottom left: "The art of lacquer from Thu Dau Mot." Signature and date 1953 in the center at the bottom.
