Large Neo-gothic Hall Coat Rack In Carved Wood, With Mirror And Brass Hooks – 19th Century
An important neo-Gothic carved wooden hall coat rack dating from the late 19th century. This entryway piece features elegant Gothic-inspired architecture, with a large central mirror framed by a richly carved pointed arch. The decoration comprises arcades, trefoil motifs, and delicate carvings reminiscent of Gothic ornamentation. The upper section is adorned with a carved mascaron in the center, surrounded by a delicately crafted openwork design. Brass hooks for hanging coats and hats, as well as a brass umbrella stand at the bottom, complete the piece. The base is composed of vertical molded panels, lending balance and elegance to the whole. This type of furniture was intended for the vestibules and entrance halls of bourgeois homes in the late 19th century.
