Exceptional engraved glass inkwell with appliqué by the Daum company. A collector's item with a sublime decoration of oak leaves in autumnal colors, engraved using vitrification techniques. Appliqués of red, yellow, and green enhance the overall design of acorns and beetles. Gold leaf beneath the appliqués gives them a magnificent brilliance. An example of this inkwell is in the collection of the Musée des Beaux-Arts on Place Stanislas in Nancy. The last photo shows a screenshot from a model sale ($5,000 + 28% buyer's premium). 13 cm high, the base is a square measuring 11 cm on each side. Perfect condition. Beautiful signature under the base, circa 1900. An exceptional and rare piece.
