Bronze sculpture, signed, with a brown patina and green oxide highlights. - Located in Rome - Dated 1969 - Monogrammed. On a white marble base. Shintani is an artist from the city of Kobe. He began sculpting under his father, Hideo Shintani, himself a sculptor. He went to Rome to study sculpture in the workshop of Emilio Greco. Upon his return to Japan, Yuki Shintani became a professor at Kobe Woman's University. Alongside his artistic practice, he exhibited his work, and many of his statues found their place in the streets of Kobe. He favored the theme of love, creating primarily female figures where the sensuality he learned from Emilio Greco blends with rhythmic dynamism. His wife was the model for most of his female sculptures. Total height: 45 cm. Figure alone: 24.5 cm high - 22.5 cm wide - 14.5 cm deep. Condition: minor chips to the marble base - minor dents and scratches at the corners.
