Beautiful tilted globe with a graduated time dial with time indications in French and Spanish.
In addition to the usual cartographic details, this globe shows “the French, English, Spanish, Dutch, Portuguese, Danish, Italian, Belgian, and American possessions and protectorates” represented by different colors; it also shows the main telegraph lines and cables in operation and planned, the railways in operation and planned, the main and secondary shipping routes, the boundaries of states and provinces, rivers, deserts and sands, frozen lands, marshes, and water depths, etc. This globe is also 'historical' because the date on which certain islands or territories were discovered is inscribed below them.
Dating: Saint Petersburg appears under the name Leningrad (from 1924 to 1991); Russia is referred to as both Russia and the USSR (1923); Lebanon does not appear (1926); Istanbul appears under the name 'Stamboul (Constantinople)' (before 1930).
