Neoclassical Clock Adorned With Mythological Marble Sculptures Marble
Neoclassical clock adorned with mythological marble sculptures. The entire composition is enclosed under a large, perfectly intact glass dome. Description: The clock is adorned with two figures sculpted in white marble. A winged figure, probably an angel or deity, adopts a dynamic pose, while another female figure, semi-nude and seated, gazes upwards. The sculpture rests on a multi-tiered rectangular base, also in white marble. The lower part of the base features a bas-relief depicting horses and a figure on a chariot, suggesting a classical mythological theme. The dial, decorated with Roman numerals, is framed with gilt decoration and sits at the center of the sculptural composition. (The original mechanism is preserved inside.)
