A Large Satsuma Vase With Scenes Of Samurai, Signed Kinkozan
A large Satsuma ceramic vase signed Kinkozan, of globular form with a cobalt blue and burnished gold ground, featuring a wide continuous reserve decorated in the round depicting a gathering of samurai. The figures, finely modeled in slight relief, are enriched with details in gold and polychrome enamels, with particular attention to textiles and furnishings. The neck is flared and the vase rests on three small feet.
