Pomponne Snuffbox From The Late 18th Century
A gilt metal snuffbox, known as a Pomponne, with a tortoiseshell lining inside. Late 18th century. A lovely Louis XVI style model with finely guilloché decoration depicting musical motifs and a laurel wreath. Good condition; the metal is still bright on the outside with a good layer of gilding. Some age-related wear and rubbing on the inside. All questions welcome.
