Set Of 4 Cabriolet Armchairs, Louis XVI - Directoire Style, Cream Lacquered, Blue Highlights, 19th Century
A beautiful set of four Louis XVI - Directoire style cabriolet armchairs in cream-colored painted wood with blue highlights. Each seat rests on four fluted tapered legs. The armrest supports are baluster-shaped and decorated with fluting. The backrest is flared in a "hood" shape, its upper rail is shaped like a "hat" framed by two small, pyramidal, carved motifs. The seat is traditional, in very good condition, and very comfortable. The upholstery features a magnificent design depicting two male and female figures. These two designs alternate on the seat and backrest. It should be noted that this fabric is in good condition, although it shows some signs of wear and a few light stains due to use, but it remains in very good condition and does not require immediate replacement. A few minor signs of wear on the paint are also present. Regarding the structure of our chairs, we note only a very slight play at the junction of the armrest supports, which is quite common in antique chairs. It is clear that this fact has no influence on the stability and sturdiness of these chairs. We note that a second pair is available, thus creating a set of four armchairs (information on request). Dimensions: back height 89 cm, seat height 42 cm, width 62 cm, seat depth 50 cm, total depth 55 cm. Shipping costs: please contact us.
