Louis Philippe Period Stepped Desk, Circa 1830
A desk described as "stepped" because it is surmounted by a block of four drawers and a shelf with a carved wooden frieze. It is veneered in flame mahogany, has a leather top, and a drawer in the frieze. The gadrooned legs are typical of the Louis Philippe period, circa 1830, inspired by English furniture. A charming little desk that would be suitable for an entryway or bedroom. In good condition, with a few minor repairs to the carved section.
