Solid Silver Bowl/cup – Art Nouveau – Minerva 1st Standard – Floral Decoration

Superb circular bowl in solid 950/1000 silver, signed by the Lyon silversmiths Charles-Frédéric Berger and Henri Nesme.

An emblematic piece of the Art Nouveau style, with a naturalistic and fluid floral decoration typical of the period: the rim is adorned with a continuous frieze of stylized pansies in high relief, with edged, veined, and contrasting petals, intertwined with sinuous stems, heart-shaped leaves, and graceful tendrils.

Hallmarks:
Minerva 1st standard (profile head in octagon – 950/1000 silver).
Maker's mark: BN with chalice in the center, Berger & Nesme, Lyon.

Condition:
Excellent overall condition for a piece over 100 years old – original patina, no major damage or restoration, very crisp and detailed repoussé decoration (well-defined flowers and leaves).
