High quality composition made around 1600 on an oak panel, representing the Virgin of Pity.
Superb treatment of light and shadows, numerous details (face of the Virgin, draperies...) which suggest an excellent hand, which we think of as being from the Flemish school, unfortunately anonymous like most paintings of this period (and even those which are identified are often the subject of numerous quarrels between experts and frequent changes of attribution).

39 x 46 cms (with old frame gilded with gold leaf, in very good condition, approximately 52 x 60 cms)

Very beautiful presentation, slight scattered repainting, old, to be noted as for any work several centuries old, tiny losses at the edge of the upper margin
