Artist: Georg Herzig 1941-2008
Georg Herzig was born in Metz on July 3, 1941, during the second German annexation. After his schooling in Germany, he pursued artistic training, which he completed under Professor Loschwitz in Berlin. He later undertook further training in the painting techniques of the Old Masters and restoration techniques. Herzig then traveled the world, undertaking study trips to India, Afghanistan, Turkey, Greece, Denmark, Mexico, and the United States. He settled as an independent artist in Provence, near Avignon, where he lived for twelve years. Finally, he spent two years living with the Tarahumara Indians of Mexico. Georg Herzig died in Bonn on June 13, 2008. A framer's label is found on the back in Bonn. Dimensions with frame: 66 cm x 82 cm
