Lost-wax bronze with a green-brown patina, Paris. Maurice Guiraud-Rivière is known as one of the great artists of the Art Deco period. A student of Antonin Mercié at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, he was a painter and draftsman. He is also known for his sporting bronzes as well as his bronze and ivory sculptures. He produced some sculptures with the Etling company. The sculpture is of fine quality and lightweight casting.
