Chiseled bronze.
These rare lamps are highly ornate, employing the decorative vocabulary of the Renaissance. The socket is surrounded by mascarons framed with parchment motifs.
The stem features three putti. The base, encircled by a frieze of symbols, has a detached collar with stylized foliage motifs. Reproducing the complex work of the Renaissance in the 19th century, few, if any, lamps are found.
Condition:
Very good condition. Removable wiring without drilling allows for two uses.
