Marquetry Box, 18th Century
A lovely rectangular box with canted corners, inlaid with rosewood, burr wood, and stained woods, decorated on all sides with bottomless cubes. The lid is adorned with a radiating medallion on a resinous background. Complete with its original working lock and key. The interior was later lined with leather. In good overall condition, restored in the 20th century. Dimensions: Height 16 cm, Length 29.8 cm, Width 17 cm. A piece dating from the second half of the 18th century.
