This saber replicates the shape and construction of traditional Mandinka sabers. It features a leather-covered handle and a high-quality, locally forged, flat-backed, curved, single-edged blade with a gray patina. The leather scabbard is embossed and decorated with geometric designs. Originating from the region of Senegal and Mali, early 20th century, circa 1900/20.
