Protestant edition of "From Communion to Jesus Christ in the Sacrament of the Eucharist AGAINST the Cardinals" by Jean Mestrezat, Sedan, 1625. Contemporary full vellum binding. Covers present and sound. Original leather closure straps, some wear, very common on books of this period, the leather is drying. Octavo format (17 x 11 cm) - 696 pages. Interior sound, paper slightly browned by the four centuries that comprise it. Book in good condition, easy to read and handle. The Sedan and Bouillon editions are among the Protestant printings most strongly opposed to Catholicism in the 17th century, obviously published without Royal Privilege. A fine collector's item from an era engaged in a religious battle, the Reformation of Christianity which began 100 years earlier.
