Biography
Henri Petitot was a French lighting manufacturer, active in Paris at the beginning of the 20th century, and a major figure in the production of Art Deco lighting. From a family of bronze artisans, Henri Petitot continued the tradition of a Parisian workshop founded at the end of the 19th century, specializing in the manufacture of decorative lighting. Inheriting this expertise, he took over the family business at the turn of the century and gave it new impetus, adapting it to the aesthetic developments of his time. It was under his direction, in the 1920s and 1930s, that the Petitot company reached its zenith. Henri Petitot developed a production emblematic of the Art Deco style, blending clean lines, balanced proportions, and high-quality craftsmanship.
