19th Century Gilt Bronze Photo Frame
Here is a classic Second Empire photo frame, in the album format as they were called at the time. Its molded and slightly angled frame features a design of braided laurel leaves and heart-shaped motifs surrounding a knurled band. The upper decoration depicts a Louis XVI knot intertwining laurel branches. Rabbet dimensions for the photo: 10.5 x 15.5 cm.
