An exceptional silver candlestick, octagonal with gadroons, engraved on a matte background. The central boss is engraved with the coat of arms of the Chevalier de Le Brun family. Paris, 1704-1712. Weight: 455g - Height: 21.2cm - Base width: 11.2cm. Condition: Good. The silver drip pan is 18th century, hallmarked with the crab mark. Only the discharge mark is visible on the foot of the candlestick. There is an old restoration to the central boss and the joint of the stem. This is a superb and very rare Louis XIV period piece. Museum quality.
