Important 18th-century grandfather clock - very interesting mechanism. Height 234 cm - Width 39 cm - Depth 27 cm. Superb 18th-century grandfather clock, made of solid wood and marquetry, displaying a beautiful antique patina and authentic charm. Description: This clock rests on a slender shaft surmounted by a richly molded and sculpted head. The front is adorned with shaped panels typical of regional furniture from Eastern France. A star marquetry decoration is featured in the center of the main door. The dial is made of brass and pewter, with Roman numerals for the hours and Arabic numerals for the minutes, and an external minute track graduated in 5-minute increments. The corners are decorated with worked brass. Original openwork hands. Date window at 6 o'clock. Mechanical weight-driven movement, chain-driven, striking bell.
