Small bas-relief depicting the Ballet Russe. An innovator in the art of medal making, Godefroid Devreese was by far the most prolific Belgian medalist, creating over 400 pieces. Throughout his life, Devreese traveled extensively, visiting England, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, and Paris. His travels fostered a reputation as a sculptor and medalist, leading him to participate in numerous exhibitions. His career was recognized with many prizes and honorary distinctions. In collaboration with Victor Horta, the renowned Belgian architect, Devreese contributed to the creation of several monuments. Horta even entrusted him with the design of his studio located on Rue des Ailes in Schaerbeek. Height with base: 22 cm
