Victor Hasch was a French painter and lithographer born in 1945 and died in 2012. Known for his vibrant colors, his work is in the tradition of the painters he admired: Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Robert Rauschenberg, and Nicolas de Staël. In his later series, he even depicted his mentors in portraits.
“Painting should transport you, and I find in it pleasures stronger than anywhere else, pleasures that keep me from dying. I can’t do anything halfway, and in a way, art is carnage,” the artist explained.
His work has been the subject of numerous exhibitions in France and abroad, in the United States, Japan, South Korea, and England. His works are also part of the collection of the Saint-Paul de Vence Museum.
