A sculptor of portraits and statues, and creator of medals and seals, Auguste De Wever (1836-1910) was active in Brussels, notably working for Charles Wiener. He is best known for his "Homage to the Promoters of Maritime Facilities" at the port of Brussels. He exhibited at the "La Guirlande" circle in Brussels in 1909.
