Luis Angel Rengifo (1906-1986, Colombia).
Colombian painter, engraver, professor, and diplomat. In 1946, Rengifo was appointed chancellor of the Colombian consulate in Mexico, then vice-consul of Colombia in Mexico from 1947 to 1950. He carried out his diplomatic duties while studying engraving at the Escuela de Grabado in Mexico City, under the tutelage of the draftsman and engraver Francisco Díaz de León (1897-1975) and José Tullo. Rengifo is considered a pioneer in the development of printmaking in Colombia. His prints depict emblematic local figures such as Indigenous people, peasants, and workers. His works carry a social message.
His works are held in the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, Patrimonio Cultural Bogota, etc.
