Superb antique statue depicting the Virgin Mary holding the Infant Jesus, carved in polychrome and gilded wood. The Virgin is shown standing, wearing a long cloak with elegantly crafted folds, holding the Child on her left arm. The faces still show beautiful traces of the original polychromy, particularly in the flesh tones and rosy cheeks. The statue rests on its original molded base.
