Admittedly somewhat worn by time, but incandescent with luminosity against this ecru background. These are two fragments of Maffrash Shahsaven kilims originating from Persia, two small collector's items. The extremely fine weave resembles goldsmithing. Simply put, it's impossible to get finer with wool! Magnificent star motifs, a veritable constellation, surrounded by red and blue zigzag borders. Woven wool on wool.
