Camillo Giammarco was an Italian painter born in 1896 in Sulmona L'Aquila in the Abruzzo region, in the east-central part of the country. A self-taught painter, he specialized primarily in nudes and portraits. To support himself, he also created religious paintings, in which he championed an art that was traditional in form but modern in expression. After the death of his friend and teacher Amedeo Tedeschi in 1924, he completed the restoration of the paintings in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Annunziata in Sulmona then in 1926 that of the Saint Thomas Cathedral in Ortona. He died in Pescara in 1946.
