"Pilaster, Gilded Wood Capital, Louis XVI Period, 18th Century, Corinthian Order "
Corinthian pilaster. Openwork wood, richly carved and gilded with gold leaf. France, Louis XVI period. Late 18th century. H. 26 x 30 x 15 cm. Large and beautiful Corinthian pilaster made of solid wood. The decoration is richly carved, openwork around the volutes, and entirely gilded. This is a fine piece of woodwork, of secular or religious origin, probably from a very fine set of wood paneling. A rather rare piece due to its size.
