"Large Azurette Vase By Charles Schneider, Le Verre Français - Art Deco, Circa 1923 "
An important, bulbous vase with a wide, rolled neck on a footed base, the "Azurette" model (1923-1926) by master glassmaker Charles Schneider for Le Verre Français. The decoration is deeply engraved with brilliant bulbs featuring wheel-cut petal motifs and slightly raised pistils. Intense ultramarine, cobalt, and royal blue colors stand on a sky-blue background speckled with turquoise powders. This easily identifiable vase, given its distinctive features and color, is unsigned. It was likely intended for export. The United States, in particular, was especially fond of the designs created by this ingenious designer and contributed to his renown until the stock market crash of 1929.
Perfect condition. Height: 13,8".
