"Portrait Of A Young Woman Of Quality "
Pierre Adolphe Huas (1838-1900) Large oil on canvas depicting a young woman in a bourgeois interior, within a Dutch-style frame. Born in La Rochelle, where the museum holds one of his works, Pierre Adolphe Huas was a talented French portrait painter who exhibited five works at the Paris Salon in 1874. The balanced proportions, the quality of the color treatment, the realism of the skin texture, and the deliberate touch of the stray lock of hair on the subject's forehead make this portrait a particularly remarkable work. Signed AP Huas and dated 1890, in perfect condition.
