Oil on canvas by Olivier LeMay. The scene illustrates the aftermath of the engagement off Ushant, where the Artois, faster than its squadron, engaged and defeated the Révolutionnaire in 40 minutes. The Révolutionnaire, still determined despite its dismasting, was subsequently captured and incorporated into the British Navy. Presented in its original antique gilt frame. Signed lower right.
