Set Of Four Louis XVI Style Cabriolet Armchairs, 18th Century
Set of Four Louis XVI Period Cabriolet Armchairs – 18th Century. An elegant set of four Louis XVI period cabriolet armchairs, late 18th century, circa 1780–1790. Beautiful medallion backs with harmonious proportions, resting on elegantly curved armrests. The arm supports are finely molded and join a curved apron at the front. The tapered and fluted legs, typical of the Neoclassical style, are joined by a flowing apron. The connecting blocks are simply carved, in the refined spirit of the reign of Louis XVI. The armchairs are made of beechwood, formerly lacquered white (the old lacquer has a beautiful patina and natural wear consistent with the period). Upholstered in red damask fabric with a floral design, in good condition. Solid and stable frames. A beautiful, harmonious set, ideal for a living room, library, or classic interior. Seat height: 42 cm
