Daniel Clesse (1932-2016), Blue Harmony, Oils On Panel, Signed
Artist: Daniel Clesse (1932-2016)
Daniel Clesse is a French artist living in Paris, France. From a young age, Daniel developed a love for drawing. He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, and the colors he used in his paintings reflected the light of Provence. He worked primarily in oil on canvas, but also in oil on wood. He dedicated his life to art and creating new paintings as often as possible. Daniel worked nights at the French postal service so he could paint daily. The Clesse couple lived and worked in Paris until 1985, when they decided to settle in the small village of Aniane in the south of France. Once settled, they both continued to develop their art in their new home. Over the years, many galleries tried to persuade him to sell his work, but Daniel never allowed it. He held a few small exhibitions where he sold his paintings himself. His painting style evolved throughout the different periods of his life. In the 1950s and 1960s, most of his works were semi-figurative. Then, in the 1970s and up until the 1980s, he turned towards abstraction, with the majority of his art being semi-abstract. Later, he fully embraced his love for abstract art and until 2000, he focused on the abstract style. A very beautiful oil on panel dating from the 1970s/80s.
