Large Louis XIII Style Desk From The Late 19th Century

Important solid light walnut desk dating from the late 19th century.

A large desk, fully open on all sides and at the ideal height for working!
It opens at the front with three large drawers extending the full depth.
They are dovetailed and open with keys that work with the original locks.
The molded top is superb, made of beautiful light walnut planks.
The apron is thick with deep Louis XIII moldings.
It rests on four very thick, double-torsed turned legs.
The legs are connected by a beautiful double-torsed Louis XIII stretcher, and there are four Louis XIII turned and heavily molded bobeches or finials under the top. The light walnut has a very beautiful patina.
There is no evidence of woodworm or restoration.

A superb, large Louis XIII style desk, which could also serve as a sideboard or a center table.
